SOLECTRIA RENEWABLES’ INVERTERS ACHIEVE TOP CEC EFFICIENCY RATINGS

May 31, 2007 Solectria Renewables announced today that its entire line of 3-phase, 480VAC PV inverters received top ratings for energy efficiency from the California Energy Commission (CEC).

Solectria offers 480VAC PV inverters at a wide range of power levels—13.2kW, 15kW, 60 kW, 82kW and 95kW—and are for use in systems from 10kW to MW-level installations.  The inverters are also available in other voltages such as 208 and 240VAC, and are listed to the new UL1741/IEEE1547 standard.

With  premium components, advanced design and software, the  Solectria 95kW-480VAC inverter has a peak efficiency of over 96.5% (as tested by independent laboratories) and a CEC efficiency rating of 95.5%; no commercial 3-phase inverter achieved a higher efficiency rating in CEC’s testing.    Furthermore, according to CEC data,   the unit has a higher efficiency than larger 225 and 500kW inverters on the market, making it the best choice for larger systems, from hundreds of kW to multi-megawatt systems.

The Solectria 15kW-480VAC inverter has a peak efficiency of 95.8% and a CEC efficiency of 94.5% topping efficiencies of all 3-phase inverters in the sub-50kW commercial inverter market by 1-3%.

Solectria’s line of integrated inverters are ideal for 10kW to multi-megawatt commercial, industrial or utility-scale PV systems.  The premium efficiency and reliability of the unit maximizes energy production and system payback.

The inverters have been chosen for use in PV systems across the United States by leading PV system design and installation companies such as Solar Design Associates, Spire Corporation, Solar Works, Inc., SolarWrights, Schott Solar, Sunlight Solar Energy, GroSolar/Energy Outfitters and Nexgen Energy Solutions.

“Solectria has always focused on premium efficiency which is of value from both an economic and environmental perspective.  We specify Solectria inverters whenever they make sense,” said Steven J. Strong, President of Solar Design Associates, Inc.

Other advanced features and options include: True zero Watts night time energy consumption,  heavy duty visible-blade DC disconnect, AC disconnect, smart oscillating high efficiency fan control, RS-232 communication interface, PC data logging software.  Optional features include fused DC combiner, positively grounded versions, Fat Spaniel web-based monitoring and RS-485 communication interface for multi-inverter sites.

Solectria Renewables, LLC, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, is a leader in the development and manufacturing of a wide range of inverters for renewable power applications including 1.8kW to 95kW grid tied PV inverters for systems from 1kW to 1MW.  Solectria Renewables has an 18-year background in inverters and other electronic power systems for harsh environments.
